Sweet words from Canada on a Rainy Day

My daughter and I are taking a photography class together and the first thing we have learned is to take your camera EVERYWHERE.
So this picture is from our rainy Saturday morning walk.

When we came back from our walk the mail had arrived... and in it was my first Post Card from
the Benevolent Postcard Society! Yay! So of course I have my camera ready for this shot!

It is a card from Canada... and from someone lovely named Casey!
Thank you Casey!
The front says... Hello Friend (just in case you cannot read it from my photos!)
I'm trying!

And as you flip it over it has a sweet quote:
"When I get sad,
I stop being sad and
be awesome instead.
True story."
-Barney Stinson

If you read my blog (which is still trying to find a path, really!) then you might know that this is a very appropriate type of quote. Something I might have chosen!
So Casey, if you are reading this... Thank you!
Oh... and also to Lori who has headed up this amazing project "The Benevolent Postcard Society"... I just wanted to send you a warm THANK YOU! You are totally amazing!
If you are interested in what in the heck this is all about there is a button on the side that you can click on to check it out!!! Please do!

Rainy lazy Saturday. A welcome relief from 95 degree temperatures
this last week!
Hope you are enjoying your weekend!

  1. Wonderful photos, and adorable postcard! Have a sweet Sunday!

  2. Oh teri, photos are amazing as always. So romantic the rain, and the light you choose. :) Have a nice week, Italo.

  3. @Italo: The rain was such a welcome surprise, yes definitely romantic! My photography classes are already starting to help! I'll pass along any great tips I get! Enjoy the week! Teri

  4. You are welcome, I'm so glad you liked the quote! I was hoping you might enjoy it. Barney is legendary :) I adore him.

The pictures you took really are beautiful

  5. i love this quote. I also love the postcard on the black chalk clipboard! classy :) I'm jealous...where oh where is mine?

  6. @Casey... Thank you, I am taking photography classes, hopefully my photos will progress from here! Practice, practice, practice!

@Katrina... The clipboards are sooo easy! Just get a cheap one from Staples or Office supply store and chalkboard paint... paint away! Then take chalk and run it over the whole thing (on the side of the chalk) to get an "aged" look. Easy! I should do a DIY on it! I saw it on another blog and loved it and can't remember where, so I'd give credit if I could remember!

  7. Oh, and don't worry if your blog doesn't have a path just's the journey that counts :) And you have a super start!

  8. Teri, your blog is absolutely lovely - your photos are really good, seriously and I just love how you write.

Love the umbrella shots, particularly the one from above.....really good.

And the postcard with Barney's words is just great!

Thanks so much for your lovely comment on my blog, what a nice thing to say :)

  9. A great tip on carrying the camera. Did you learn other photo lessons from your class?

  10. Hi Cafe Pasadena! We learned a few things, but mostly getting out and experimenting has been the best experience so far! Trial and error has been our best lessons!

I'd love to hear what you have to say... thanks so much for dropping by!
